Luxury Hotels: The Pros and Cons of Choosing a Luxury LI Hotel

Posted by Amanda on 1/23/11

If you are going on a vacation, your first reaction will be to choose the cheapest hotel available. Eventually, you will be tempted by the various upgrades and luxuries that you will find at a luxury Long Island hotel. While this type of hotel may be perfect for some, it may not be right for others. You need to take a look at the pros and cons of luxury hotels to understand whether or not this is the type of hotel you should use for your Long Island trip.

Positives

A luxury hotel will be able to offer you a high level of quality and service that a regular hotel will not be able to match. You will find upgraded rooms that feature updated bathrooms, larger televisions, bigger beds, and more appliances (such as a fridge, bar, and mini-bar). The amenities of the hotel, such as the pool and workout room, will likely be of higher quality as well.

You will also have the ability to order room service at most luxury Long Island hotels. Many of these hotels feature a restaurant that will also provide you with food in your room. While the food may be more expensive, you pay for the convenience of being able to order food in your room.

Negatives

The only major negative to consider with a luxury hotel in Long Island comes from the price. The prices of a luxury hotel are generally dramatically higher than the price for a regular hotel room. You will be paying for the higher quality, the upgrades, and the different amenities that the hotel has. These hotels may offer discounts and specials for those who stay for extended period of time, but rarely offer discounted rooms to those who are staying for a short amount of time.

There are both benefits and negative considerations that come with any hotel choice. You need to think about your budget, and where you would like to spend your money. If you have a high budget, you can easily afford the extra money on these hotel rooms. If you want to spend more on your trip, however, you may want to save some money by picking a cheaper hotel. Take these pros and cons and compare them to your wants and needs. It will help you to make the best hotel decision for your trip.
