4 Things to ask a Concierge at a Long Island Hotel

Posted by Amanda on 2/10/10

The Concierge at any Long Island hotel is often an ignored and under appreciated tool. Concierge workers are some of the most knowledgeable workers in the area. They know a lot of information about the area because they have often been trained to do so. It is normal for guests to talk to the Concierge for various pieces of information. These are four things that you should ask a Concierge when staying at a Long Island hotel.

Can I Get an Upgrade?

The first thing that you should as a Concierge is about any possible room upgrades. There may be empty and unfilled rooms in the hotel that you are staying in. Many hotels are willing to upgrade their current customers at no extra charge. By asking, you are giving yourself a free shot at a nicer and more expensive room.

Where Are the Best Places to Eat?

Talk to the Concierge about all of the best places to eat. These workers often have conversations with guests. They know the best places to eat, and the worst place to eat. They will know the places that have the longer lines, and the places that will allow you to get a quick meal.

Where is the Entertainment?

The Concierge can also act as a miniature tour guide for your vacation. While they may not be able to walk you around the parts of Long Island that you want to see, they can help to guide you to the best attractions in the area. If you want to know the best places to be entertained, ask the Concierge.

When is Breakfast the Best?

The Concierge will also be able to give you insider tips on the hotel’s continental breakfast. If you want to make sure that you get the best breakfast possible, ask them when you should come down. If you want to avoid the breakfast rush, ask the Concierge when you should come down for food. They will be able to give you rough estimates for the best times to get your free breakfast.

While most of these questions that you ask a Concierge should revolve around the area, it doesn’t hurt to talk about you room. In the end, anything you ask a Concierge will help you to enjoy your stay. You can know that you are getting the best hotel price, and that you are being directed to some of the best attractions in Long Island.
